So after telling my mom I was in the mood to make some bread, she gave me an easy, recipe that had no wait time.
3 cups flour
3 tsp Sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup room temperature water
3 tsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp margarine
Poured all my dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, yeast) in my mixer on low. If you don't have a mixer your hands are quite fine.
I then in sections, I added the water to the mix. The dough starts to form
Cut the butter up into small pieces and add it to the mix. When all of the water and butter is added the mixture should be forming to a ball. It will have a firm but sticky texture
I left mine for about 30 mins because work interrupted my bread making. By the time I had gotten back to it it had risen to a very decent size and light to touch
Normally at this time I have to punch down the dough and re knead and leave it to rise for another few hours but not this time.
I rolled out this mixture to one long piece then cut it in half.
I greased my pans, and placed my pieces in and popped them into the oven.
30 minutes later I was left with 2 loaves of bread.
I probably should have put some egg on, as my oven didn't give the loaves much colour even though they were done.
I did make this in less than an hour, including baking time. So if you are looking for a quick recipe for bread give this a try.
Next week I'll try to add a flavor, more than likely pumpkin.
